Celeb Twitter Round-Up: DJ Zinhle Schools Twitter on Family Dynamics
Tweeps are a special class of petty people: they’re unhappy when the world spirals out of control, but they’re equally unhappy when it comes to others blissfully living their lives, best or otherwise.
Take DJ Zinhle, for example: for the past few months, she’s been uploading pics of spending time with her late baby daddy AKA’s family and his girlfriend, Nadia Nakai, while also posting pics and videos of her kids, Kairo (whom she shares with AKA) and Asante (her daughter with her husband DJ Murdah Bongz).
But, like miserly old people, tweeps are only happy when they’re complaining about something, hence they’ve been taking shots at Zinhle over the way she’s been hanging out with Nakai and AKA’s family, as well as how she seems to gives her attention via social media to her own kids instead of her step-daughter.
Last Saturday, 17 June, the “My Name Is” hitmaker commented on such pettiness with a touch of class:
This brought forth a flood of support from fans who reckoned that she didn’t need to explain anything to anyone, let alone her haters:
@AndileTolom summed it up nicely:
Of course, the trolls slipped out from under their bridges to take potshots at Zinhle, especially at her supposed favouritism:
This prompted some stern responses (and sass) from the more mature tweeps:
Glossing over the entertainment value from this latest debacle, Mzansi Twitter is still Mzansi Twitter and pettiness is still pettiness. There’ll never be a peaceful day on that platform, but at least we know that Zinhle is trying her best to not let tweeps get under her skin so easily!
